7 Ways to Hang Up on Voice Fraud

Criminals are coming at us from all direction, including our phones. Don't answer that next call without reading this tips first.

Whether landline or mobile, for work purposes or personal use, phones are part of our everyday lives. Criminals know this, too, so it's little wonder why voice fraud has been running at an all-time high.

According to Pindrop, 90 voice fraud attacks occur every minute. Last year, the fraud rate was one out of 685 calls, remaining at the top of a five-year peak.

Exacerbating the problem, knowledge-based authentication (KBA) information, such as date of birth and street address info, has become readily available to fraudsters, says Chris Halaschek, vice president of product at Pindrop. "We have found that in roughly 60% of the cases, fraudsters can answer the KBAs," Halaschek says.

Most spam callers spoof their phone number. 

Most use a different number for each call.

All you would be doing is building a database of victims.

We Need a national Database, let everyone contribute all the spam numbers and based on AI machine analysis they should be banned forever.

Internal attacks
Internal attacks are more critical and impactful then external attacks most of the time. As they would have more resources and execute in a right way.

Voice biometrics
It is a good idea if it works. Finding these types of solutions is better than telling people not to answer.

Extensive contact list
I would doubt that extensive contact list will help at all. It would help hackers more than you I would say.

Don't click on a file unless it tell you it's safe to proceed Here I can say if you were not d or ting the file from someone what they sent you is not useful to you, do not click.

Do not reveal so much too soon is a good suggestion I think. Just let them tell you who they are and what they want.

Do not answer
This suggestion does not work for most of the time, I have phone so I can answer when I get a call, this is like we do not know what to do so you should not answer the call. It is telecom providers responsibility to avoid it, they sell your data that is why you get calls.
