Arctic Wolf Expands Operations to Toronto and San Antonio

Company to open centers of excellence focused on R&D and security operations.

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN – November 19, 2020 – Arctic Wolf®, the leader in security operations, today announced that on the heels of its $200M Series E and $1.3B valuation, the company is establishing regional centers of excellence focused on research and development (R&D) and security operations in Toronto, Ontario and San Antonio, Texas. Arctic Wolf plans to begin hiring immediately in these locations, with physical offices planned to open in 2021.

Arctic Wolf’s presence in Toronto

Arctic Wolf's creation of an R&D center of excellence in Toronto deepens its relationship and investment in the Toronto-Waterloo Corridor—a burgeoning cybersecurity talent hub in Ontario, Canada. Arctic Wolf's Waterloo office is currently the company's largest facility and home to the company's first security operations center (SOC) and 100% of its R&D activities.

Arctic Wolf's Toronto facility will serve as an extension of its Waterloo office and provide greater location flexibility to R&D talent throughout southwestern Ontario and the Greater-Toronto Area (GTA). The Toronto office will focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science capabilities that will further enhance the Arctic Wolf Platform. Between the two offices in Ontario, the company plans to hire more than 125 new positions by the end of 2021.

"Close to 40% of the Arctic Wolf team is based in Ontario today, and our recent $1.3 billion valuation is a testament to the team and a reflection of the quality of technical talent in the region." said Michael Morrissey, Senior Vice President of R&D, Arctic Wolf. "We are committed to growing our employee, partner, and customer footprint in Canada for the years to come.”

Arctic Wolf’s presence in San Antonio

In San Antonio, Arctic Wolf is creating a new center of excellence focused on security operations and will be constructing the company's fourth security operations center. San Antonio has the second-largest concentration of cybersecurity professionals in the U.S. and is also home to multiple National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity, as well as a pool of  Department of Defense veterans which provides the ideal talent depth needed for the Arctic Wolf Concierge Security® Team to hire dozens of new positions over the next 18 months. The office in San Antonio will be led by Mark Manglicmot, Arctic's Wolf's Vice President of Security Services, a cybersecurity veteran with over 15 years of industry expertise from time spent in the U.S. Air Force and the private sector.

"Our Concierge Security Team combined with our cloud-native Arctic Wolf Platform allows organizations to immediately attain world-class security operations capabilities via 24x7 coverage and access to security experts who can maximize the effectiveness of a company’s existing security tools,” said Mark Manglicmot, Vice President Security Services, Arctic Wolf. "Tapping into the breadth and depth of the cybersecurity talent pool in San Antonio will allow us to rapidly scale our Concierge Security Team so that we can continue to provide our customers with the better protection, stronger security posture, and expert guidance Arctic Wolf is known for.”
