Checkmarx Acquires Custodela

The purchase adds DevSecOps capabilities to a software exposure platform.

Checkmarx has announced the acquisition of Custodela in a deal that will bring DevSecOps integration to the Checkmarx platform.

According to the release announcing the purchase, Checkmarx will target executives as they try to build a mature DevSecOps program while avoiding scenarios that increase software risk exposure. Checkmarx's platform-centric solution is heavily automation based, as are Custodela's DevSecOps tools for software security deployment and automation.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Business expansion
Acquisitions are most often than not tied to business expansions. The aim of the company is to maintain their current consumer pool while being able to extend their portfolio from the newly-bought sector. At the same time, their intention could be to ensure that demand is properly met as part of their efforts as service providers to fulfill increasing demand, else risk being faced with warnings from the relevant boards.
